Restaurant was smaller than I expected but the food was delish! The reviews are correct is when it comes to the $1 salad! I couldn't get enough of the salad dressing!! It's a must when visiting. The my niece who's 7 recommended the Carbonara. So of course I had to try it- so yummy!! The tea was freshly brewed which I loved as well. Definitely coming back.

My mother and I were seated at the counter for lunch on Saturday. It was very busy, but the service was good. It was entertaining to watch the cooks in the kitchen prepare the orders.

I ordered the Avocado Cream Cheese Sauce, and she had the Mushroom & Uni. I was interested in trying something less traditional, so the avocado seemed like a fun twist. They definitely use quality ingredients. My mother and I agreed that we preferred my dish; the Mushroom & Uni was good, but the sauce was a bit plain. If you're looking for a quality Uni pasta, I recommend Ini Ristorante down in Fountain Valley (it's much more of a splurge than Spoon House, but their Uni is more satisfying).

The second thing that was a tad bit strange was the bitter taste in the "$1 salad." I couldn't tell if it was the lettuce that was bitter or the dressing. However, the bread they served at the beginning completely made up for the weird salad. So, so delicious.

Honestly, this place is such a local spot that has been here since I was little, so this review definitely is emotionally biased. Spoon House has pretty much stayed the same since I was younger and I like it that way. There's a little parking lot behind the restaurant that is shared with a few other establishments, but if you don't find parking there you can easily find free street parking. The restaurant itself is okay sized and gives this kind of "homey" feel to it. A server will come and greet you and seat your party right away (if they have space of course) at either a table or the bar style seating. They'll give you some water and a big bowl of bread-- the bread is BOMB and I'm pretty sure that they make it in-house. The outside of the bread has a nice crispiness to it that isn't too hard, and the inside is so fluffy and soft and tasty.
You NEED to order their dollar salad. It is an absolute MUST! There is just something in that dressing that they use that is so flavorful and delicious. Along with my salad, I ordered the plum and shiso spaghetti. I always order this dish here and it always is so yummy and has a really good flavor of plum and shiso. It's a bit tart and a tad bit rich with what I believe is probably from butter. Depending on how hungry I am, sometimes I can finish the whole plate and sometimes I can only finish half. I would say that it could be shareable between two people who either don't eat a lot of aren't super hungry. For the price, the taste, and the service, I feel that this is a great place and highly recommend all to try out!

Spoon house is a small little restaurant across from Pacific Square Plaza. Parking is in the back of the restaurant in a small little lot.

I'd recommend their spinach & bacon pasta or their bolognese spaghetti. Their spaghetti noodles are always perfectly cooked, and their bread is fresh & soft.

Make sure to order the "one- dollar salad"! The dressing is amazing.

Wasn't really supposed to eat here. My original plan was Akane Chaya. However, I got there at 2:36 and said that the kitchen is closed already.

BEST DECISION!!! I was craving for Japanese pasta and stumbled upon Spoon House. The place is really cute and small. Service was amazing. The lady was very attentive.

I ordered hot garlic and coffee float. It was sooooo good. I think I just found my new fixation! I'll definitely be back. Maybe im gonna be back today again lol
